SANTA CLARA, Calif., October 20th, 2017 — Vista Solar, a leading Bay Area commercial solar installer, co-hosts ribbon cutting for new fully operational solar installation for Golden Gate Produce Terminal –  the largest and busiest produce terminal in Northern California.

The Golden Gate Produce Terminal’s $8 Million Transformation includes 3,954 solar panels for the entire market designed and installed by Vista Solar, energy efficiency upgrades, improved cold chain food storage management and worker safety systems, as well as smoother traffic flow within the facility, which is a mile from San Francisco International Airport on Highway 101.

In celebration with customers and employees, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held on October 20th, 2017. The event featured remarks from Congresswoman Jackie Speier, San Mateo County Superior Dave Pine, South San Francisco Mayor Pradeep Gupta, and Produce Market Board Member Steve Hurwitz, CEO and Founder of Bay Area Herbs. Honored on stage is South San Francisco City Council member Richard Garbarino, with Emcee President of the Golden Gate Produce Terminal Peter Carcione.

The solar installation alone is expected to generate over 2 million kWh of energy annually. That’s the same as removing 319 cars’ emissions from the road, powering 161 homes’ energy, and eliminating 3,287,998 pounds of Carbon Dioxide emissions.
