“Vista Solar was an excellent partner. We were extremely impressed with their professionalism and efficiency, and the savings we are realizing, provides another way for us to help tip the scales toward generosity as we increase our bottom line.”

– Dan Perkins, Pastor at WestGate Church

This photovoltaic (PV) system, designed and installed by Vista Solar, offsets WestGate Church’s electricity bill by nearly 95 percent. Vista Solar secured a $0 down, as well as a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) which allows WestGate to be cash-flow positive from the start.

As part of the PPA agreement, Vista Solar monitors the system for 15 years to ensure it’s performing efficiently. The system sits on two pitched rooftops at the church’s Saratoga facility. With that challenge, Vista Solar is using state-of-the-art online monitoring software which enables detailed visibility of both arrays from one platform, and provides system performance alerts.

The solar energy components for this system include SunPower X-Series solar panels delivering efficiency of 21.5 percent, SMA Tri-Power inverters, Deck monitoring software, and a ProSolar racking solution.

With two South Bay area locations, the congregation members total to more than 2,500. The savings generated help WestGate Church members continue to run its annual “local compassion” programs. Furthermore, the savings are aiding their goal in donating 50% of the church’s budget in charitable donations and service.
